Recycling – RECOVER Act Re-Introduced in the House

On April 5, 2021, the “Realizing the Economic Opportunities and Values of Expanding Recycling (RECOVER) Act” was re-introduced in the US House of Representatives https://cardenas.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/cardenas-bucshon-reintroduce-the-recover-act – The bill “…  would allocate $500 million in matching federal grants to eligible states, local municipalities, and tribal governments to invest in improving their recycling infrastructure, programs, and education efforts … [It] encourages local and state governments to invest in recycling programs and new technologies to increase collection rates and promote consumer education … would require the EPA to submit a report to Congress … on measures taken towards implementation … [and] precludes the use of EPA funds for incineration …” – The text of the bill, H.R.5115 – RECOVER Act, as introduced November 15, 2019 is here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5115/text #Recycling #PlasticWaste
