Single-Use Plastic – UK Government Seeks Public Comments on Commonly Littered Items

In a Nov. 20, 2021 news release, the UK Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) https://consult.defra.gov.uk/environmental-quality/consultation-on-proposals-to-ban-commonly-littered/ announced that the UK government is seeking by February 12, 2022 public comments on “… a plan to ban the supply of single-use plastic items and polystyrene food and drink containers … [including] plates; cutlery; balloon sticks; [and] expanded and extruded polystyrene food and drink containers …” – DEFRA is also seeking public comments https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/commonly-littered-single-use-plastic-items-call-for-evidence on a call for evidence around other commonly littered single-use plastic items to help inform future policy decisions, including: wet wipes; tobacco filters; sachets and single-use cups #SingleUsePlastic #PlasticWaste #DEFRA
